HDDSLR
I remember the first footage I saw from a Nikon HD DSLR, it was the Chase Jarvis promo for the D90, the first HD DSLR, and the crispness and DOF just blew me away. But it wasn't until I saw the work of Philip Bloom that I really realized the potential of the HD DSLR format. Being a nikon user, I had to work within the constraints of the Nikon D300s while the Canon folks had the joy of shooting with the 7D and 5Dmk2. So in the summer of 2010 I was lucky enough to sign up and get a seat in an all day seminar taught by Philip Bloom that covered exclusivly, shooting with the HD DSLR format, and since then I've committed fully to the format for all future video projects.
The constraints of the Nikon HD DLSR format are extensive. Rolling shutter, manual focus, no metering in live view, no 60fps for slow motion, but with all of those constraints, the high definition image that comes out of the new Nikon D7000 is so bueatiful it more than makes up for the constraints...lets just hope for a firmware update huh?
Here are some samples of my video work using the Nikon HD DSLR camers.
